Travel tips

Afghanistan

Okay, for some reason, for a few months now I've been dreaming of one day going to Afghanistan. Yeah, I know, there are still remnants of the Taliban regime and terrorist groups like al-qaeda, but I've read about the museums, and boy, are they cool. They have a museum about an ancient city, in an ancient city known as Balkh. The museum receives around 100 visitors a day, which to me is surprising as Afghanistan is an extremely poor and dangerous nation. But, if you're planning to go to Afghanistan, here are some basic tips:

- A Valid Passport and Visa are required for entry
- I would advise flying via Safi Air from Frankfurt, Germany
- The main point of starting your tour is usually Kabul International Airport
- Most of the population speaks either Dari or Pashto. I would advise learning to speak these languages fluently before departing to Afghanistan
- STAY OUT OF THE WAY OF MILITARY CONVOYS
- You should probably get some Afghani, which is the official currency of Afghanistan

Here are some safety tips:

- Be aware for IEDs and land mines
- avoid rallies and demonstrations
- In general, just be aware at ALL TIMES!!!
